Ingridients of Buttermilk Biscuits :
- 8 cups self-rising flour
- 2 tablespoon white sugar
- 2 tablespoon baking powder
- 2 cup shortening
- 4 cups buttermilk
- ½ cup buttermilk
Method of making Buttermilk Biscuits :
- Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C). Lightly grease two baking sheets.
- In a big mixing bowl, integrate flour, sugar and baking powder; stir properly. Cut in shortening until combination resembles coarse cornmeal. Add four cups buttermilk and mix just to moisten.
- Roll out dough to one inch thick and reduce into biscuits. Place biscuits on organized baking sheets; brush tops with last ½ cup buttermilk.
- Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or till golden.
