Ingridients of  Buttermilk Biscuits :

  • 8 cups self-rising flour
  • 2 tablespoon white sugar
  • 2 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 cup shortening
  • 4 cups buttermilk
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Method of making  Buttermilk Biscuits :

  1. Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C). Lightly grease two baking sheets.
  2. In a big mixing bowl, integrate flour, sugar and baking powder; stir properly. Cut in shortening until combination resembles coarse cornmeal. Add four cups buttermilk and mix just to moisten.
  3. Roll out dough to one inch thick and reduce into biscuits. Place biscuits on organized baking sheets; brush tops with last ½ cup buttermilk.
  4. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes, or till golden.
